Where are the suppliers of nucs and packages in Western Washington?

Where can beekeepers in Western WA buy bees? Suppliers of nucs and packages are pushing to get beekeepers to place orders now. They may need to sell the nucs and packages they have ordered from out of state, or small local suppliers may have a limited bees available. The suppliers with the “loudest voice” (best marketing ads) may or may not be the best for your needs.

The best way to get an idea of how many sources are available in Western WA is to check the list SnoKing Beekeepers provides on its website. Click on the button "2025 Nucs & Packages" on www.snokingbka.org . Look at the addresses of the suppliers listed, even just at their zipcodes, and you may be pleasantly surprised to find sources for nucs/packages closer to you than you knew. Those same sources may supply queens as well, perhaps even throughout the beekeeping season, which may be useful when you unexpectedly need a queen.

Also, often local bee clubs have members that produce bees or transport them from large growers. Some clubs even participate in a "group buy" in order to get a discount for their members, so check with your local bee clubs. Some of those, but not all, you can find at https://wasba.org/local-organizations/ .
