SnoKing Beekeepers
will be at the
Evergreen State Fair
Aug. 24-29, Aug. 31-Sept. 5, 2023
Bringing bees, beekeepers & bee people together

For detailed information about volunteering at this year's fair, check out the newsletter 8/10/2023: . We hope to meet you again this year to "talk bees" at the SKBA booth in the Outdoor Agricultural Display Area. Last year, a wonderful time was had by all - booth staff and visitors young and old. No one was too young or too old to get a sticker for "spotting the queen" at the observation hive. Some of our members also earned service points for Journeyman certification while enjoying the fellowship of beekeepers, staffing the booth, explaining the demonstration hive, and demoing. Two Journeyman candidates handled honey entries in Bldg. 500 and served as honey taster judges: Gina Cuff and Minh Cao.
We were represented at the indoor Agricultural Display in Bldg. 500 by our scarecrow entries, Honey Bandit and Pumpkinhead Hornet Trapper.

This year volunteers who sign up on the signup genius website for 2 or more shifts will receive t-shirts handcrafted by Becky Glaze and if willing to do a third shift, will also receive a window stencil. Each shift also gives the volunteer one more entry to win prizes at the SnoKing October meeting drawing: handcrafted quilt by Anna Filson, single deep hive setup donated by Mann Lake Ltd., and more. The SignUpGenius link can be found in the newsletter or on the Facebook SnoKing Beekeepers Group discussion page. You must be a member of SnoKing to enter the drawing.
See us at two more community outreach events in 2023;
Return of the Salmon celebration September 23 at Osprey Park in Sultan, WA
and the Washington State Beekeepers Association (WASBA) Conference
