SnoKing Beekeepers
at the 2025
Evergreen State Fair

Bringing bees, beekeepers & bee people together

Come stop by to "talk bees" at the SKBA booth in the Outdoor Agricultural Display Area.

We are having a wonderful time, booth staff and visitors young and old. No one is too young or too old to get a sticker for "spotting the queen" at the observation hive. The Queen of the Fair reared and bred in our club apiary will "hold audience" in the tabletop observation hive at our booth.

Some of our members will also be earning service points for Journeyman certification while enjoying the fellowship of beekeepers, staffing the booth, explaining the demonstration hive, and demoing. Journeyman candidates can each year volunteer to handle honey entries in Bldg. 500 and serve as honey taster judges with training by experts.

Beekeeper scarecrows have again joined us at the fair: Honey Bandit and Pumpkinhead, and a Beetles guitarist.

Again this year, SnoKing members who signed up in advance on SnoKing's signup genius website for 3 or more shifts will receive t-shirts handcrafted by volunteer Becky Glaze. Each shift will also gives a volunteer an additional entry/chance to win prizes at the SnoKing September meeting drawing: the grand prizes this year were donated by Guardian Bee Apparel - a full bee suit, a jacket and trousers set, and a jacket, all with veils. Regular prizes from which the volunteers can select are a few extra club t-shirts, quart jars of real honey contributed by members, baseball-style caps, surplus 2025 beginner and apprentice manuals, and more. To be a member, one must be current on dues, having paid the 2024-2025 membership dues or paying for the upcoming 2025-2026. Our membership year runs Sept. 1st through August 31st.

SnoKing Beekeepers will again host a member club booth at the Washington State Beekeepers Association (WASBA) Conference Saturday/Sunday October 3-5 , 2025 in Lynnwood, WA. Stop by and say hi; we like to "talk bees"!

We hope to see you at these and other events in what remains of 2025.
